As a young girl, I used to beg my mother to sign me up for every class that taught me to create things by hand. From pottery to cross-stitch to sewing I blew through the beginner levels of most anything you could think of, however never managed to stay focused on one single skill to master. I came across
this interview today and remembered the split second dream I had had about becoming a professional calligrapher...and at that time, not even caring if this was a viable career choice or not.
I truly believe that the skill of writing is becoming a lost art, and Nicolas Ouchenir is showing how a written note can be truly valuable...even in an age where many of us turn to a keyboard before we look for a pen.
If only I had known this skill could have been so coveted...
